I have believed this for years, having read the Bible (not the Torah) and found it to be a very poor history book.!
The Jews never killed all the people they foughtโฆ.all tribes of the time were sheep herders & certainly kept the animals & just added to their stock thereby increasing their wealth.?
And they kept women & kids for slaves /servants.! Maybe a lot of the men also, if not warriors.?
Bible reads more like a typical (African) colonization report: colonizer selecting/favoring one tribe, giving giving them land and possessions of the other tribe(s), inciting internal fight and preventing them from uniting against the common enemy ("god" the colonizer).
